Nottingam Panthers have signed 22-year-old Russian winger Alexander Mokshantsev for 2017/18.
Mokshantsev, pictured above in blue, split last season between KHL side Lada Togliatti and VHL outfit Dizel Penza, registering eight goals and 17 points in 26 VHL games.
The Penza native has also featured in the KHL with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, featuring in 38 KHL games across part of three seasons for Lokomotiv and Lada whilst also representing Russia at under 16, 17, 18 and 20 level.
“He’s a super-skilled, super-fast young Russian.” Panthers head coach Corey Neilson said.
“He’s excited about the opportunity before him. He’s young but he was in the KHL last year and played in a very defensive league in the VHL. Lots of positives, we’re excited to have him.”
Neilson added that he expects Mokshantsev to start on the clubs fourth line with a view to taking on an increased role as the season progresses.
