Nottingham Panthers have confirmed that former NHL forward Brian McGrattan will not be returning to the club next season.

The 35-year-old joined Nottingham last September on a two-year deal, but following talks over recent weeks the Panthers and McGrattan’s representatives have agreed a mutual termination of his contract.

McGrattan scored 12 goals and 19 points in 47 Elite League games, adding a further five goals in nine IIHF Continental Cup games as Nottingham became the first British side to win a major European trophy last season.

Originally selected in the fourth round (104th overall) at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by Los Angeles Kings, McGrattan also featured in 317 NHL games for the Ottawa Senators, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators during a 15-year pro career.
