Nottingham Panthers have signed 24-year-old Canadian forward Zack Phillips from Allsvenskan Tingsryds AIF.
Selected 28th overall by the Minnesota Wild at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Phillips was a member of the 2011 Memorial Cup winning Saint John Sea Dogs and spent part of four seasons in the AHL with the Houston Aeros, Iowa Wild, providence Bruins and Chicago Wolves before moving to Sweden last season.
In 260 career AHL games he scored 35 goals and 100 points.
“I like his attitude and I very much like the detailed reports I’ve had in about his skill set. He can play centre or right wing and we see him on the first line leading the offence.” Panthers head coach Corey Neilson said.
“The squad is shaping up very well. It’s all about putting the pieces of the jigsaw together.
“Zack is a big and important piece of that puzzle.”
