Coventry Blaze have secured the signing of 28-year-old Canadian forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand.
The Quebec native joins the Blaze from EBEL side HC Bolzano-Bozen, for whom he scored 15 goals and 27 points in 61 games last season.
Vallerand has also played in the AHL, ECHL, Swiss NLB, Danish Metal Ligaen and Italy’s Serie A, where his 32 goals in 34 games for Eppan/Appiano saw him lead the league in goals during the 2014/15 season.
“We wanted to get a little more dynamic up front and with Marc, we have done that.” Blaze head coach Danny Stewart said.
“He has consistently put the puck in the net wherever he’s played and that’s something we needed a bit more of. He has top end speed at this level and brings us that element of skill we were looking for at the same time.
“He will be here to score no doubt, but what I also liked is that he’s a player that can create opportunities for other guys as well and plays hard 200 feet. This is a big signing for us and will compliment our current group very well.”
