Giants To Host Euro Adventure

The SSE Arena, home to Belfast Giants, will host the semi-final stage of the IIHF Continental Cup in November.

The Giants will come in at this stage along with Croatia’s Medvescak Zagreb and GKS Katowice of Poland as well as the winners of Group B, consisting of hosts Ritten Sport, MAC Budapest, Acroni Jesenice and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, which will be decided in October.

If the Giants finish in the top two of Group E, they will advance to the Final stage in January in a location still to be decided.

It will be the fourth time the Giants have competed in the tournament, after previous appearances in 2002/03, where they reached the final group, 2012/13 and 2014/15.

This is their reward after winning the Challenge Cup last season in a 6-3 win over eventual Elite League champions Cardiff Devils back in March.

As yet, dates are to be confirmed and this, along with ticket information, will be made available in due course.
