New Fife Flyers forward Brett Bulmer says he wants to be an “important piece” for the club in the new season.

The 26-year-old arrives from ECHL side Florida Everblades, where he helped them win the Brabham Cup, the trophy for winning in the regular season.

And he’s excited to get the next stage of his career underway when he takes to the ice for Todd Dutiaume’s men in the new campaign.

“I can’t wait to get to Fife and help my team succeed and I’m super excited about the group we have and the opportunity,” Bulmer said.

“I want to help to bring a winning culture and be an important piece, be a leader as well as a great teammate.”

Bulmer has 17 games of NHL experience having iced with Minnesota Wild between 2011 and 2016, also picking up experience in the AHL with Houston Aeros and Iowa Wild.

He moved to Europe in 2016, starting the season in Finland with Ilves then on to a short spell in Germany with DEL side IRC Ingolstadt before returning to North America and Florida, helping to the play-off final, where they lost in seven games to Colorado Eagles.

Coach Dutiaume was pleased to get this latest deal over the line and spoke of what Bulmer will bring to his team.

He added: “Brett is an exciting addition to our line up and adds size and much needed grit to our right side along with offensive capability that will flourish in our league.

“He brings to us a wealth of experience and we are excited to see how this group perform together in a few short weeks.”
