EIHL Preseason Gets Underway Saturday

The 2018/19 EIHL Preseason gets underway on Saturday evening, with defending champions Cardiff Devils travelling to Nottingham to face the Panthers in the first leg of the Aladdin Cup.

The two sides meet again on Sunday for the second leg at Ice Arena Wales, while in South Yorkshire, the Steelers welcome Swedish Allsvenskan side Leksands IF to IceSheffield for back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday, before taking on SHL outfit Timra IK on August 18th and 19th at the same venue.

Other highlights of the 2018/19 EIHL Preseason include the 4 Nations Showcase – which will see Manchester Storm and Fife Flyers take on Danish Metal Ligaen sides Odense Bulldogs and Aalborg Pirates and German DEL2 sides Eispiraten Crimmitschau and Tolzer Lowen – while the University of Manitoba Bisons will also tour the UK, facing the Storm and Flyers as well as playing two games in Belfast versus the Giants.

There are also games scheduled against DEL sides Fischtown Pinguins, DEL2 side Dresdner Eislowen, HK Poprad of Slovakia, MAC Budapest and seven-time Norwegian champions Stavanger Oilers.

The final game of the Preseason will see Milton Keynes Lightning host Coventry Blaze on Wednesday 5th September, just after the start of the 2018/19 Challenge Cup on Saturday 1st September with the game between Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers, which marks the start of the 2018/19 EIHL season.
