Fife Flyers have re-signed Latvian defenceman Ričards Birziņš.
The 29-year-old joined the Flyers last summer from French side Nice, appearing in 56 Elite League games as the Kirkcaldy side won the Gardiner Conference title for the first time.
The Riga native scored seven goals and 30 points during that span, also registering four points in eight Challenge Cup games as the Flyers reached the quarter-final stage of the competition.
“‘Ricky’ played a huge part in our success last year,” Flyers Assistant Coach Jeff Hutchins said. “He competed and added offence from the back-end. We are expecting him to come in and pick up where he left off last season.”
Birziņš has also previously played in the EIHL for Manchester Storm, as well as stints in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Norway, Italy and one season in the ECHL.
