The weekend is nigh and with more Elite League and Challenge Cup action on the way, there’s plenty to be excited about.

So here’s what you need to know about them:


Belfast Giants vs Dundee Stars (Challenge Cup Group B, SSE Arena, 7pm)

Belfast are two for two in their Challenge Cup defence so far and await the visit of Dundee Stars, the first team they played last Saturday, winning 4-2 in Scotland.  Can they make it three out of three?

Belfast Giants vs Glasgow Clan (Challenge Cup Group B, SSE Arena, 7pm)

Brendan Connolly returns to his former club as winless Glasgow Clan take the boat trip to Northern Ireland, looking to claim their first competitive win under Pete Russell.  But the Challenge Cup holders

Cardiff Devils vs Nottingham Panthers (EIHL, Ice Arena Wales, 7pm)

The league champions are back in domestic action after their recent European exertions and play host to in-form Nottingham Panthers as they begin the defence of their title.  One thing’s for sure, it will be a much different from their pre-season meetings.

Fife Flyers vs Dundee Stars (Challenge Cup Group B, Fife Ice Arena, 7.15pm)

After travelling to Sheffield through the week, Flyers are back in Challenge Cup action where they’ll renew acquaintances with Dundee Stars.  With both teams having won one and lost one, who will get the upper hand?

Milton Keynes Lightning vs Coventry Blaze (Challenge Cup Group C, MK Arena, 7pm – Sunday)

Milton Keynes Lightning made an impression in the Challenge Cup last year, reaching the knockout stages above the then holders Cardiff Devils.  Can they start strongly against Coventry Blaze, a team they thrashed in a recent pre-season game?

Sheffield Steelers vs Manchester Storm (Challenge Cup Group A, Fly DSA Arena, 7pm – Saturday)

Sheffield Steelers kick off their Challenge Cup campaign with a visit by Manchester Storm, looking to make a strong start.  Can Storm spring another win on the Steelers for Challenge Cup points?

Two former Panthers come face to face with their former teams Coventry Blaze play host to Rich Chernomaz’s Nottingham in the quest for points.  Can they do it?

Dundee Stars vs Fife Flyers (Challenge Cup Group B, Dundee Ice Arena, 5pm)

Cardiff Devils vs Milton Keynes Lightning (Challenge Cup Group C, Ice Arena Wales, 6pm – LIVE on FreeSports from 5.30pm)

Our first live televised takes place this Sunday when Cardiff Devils host Milton Keynes Lightning in the Challenge Cup, Group C at 6pm.  It’s also a banner-raising night for the league and play-off champions too, but you want to be there, check this link out:
