Belfast Giants’ Blair Riley has been chosen as Week 9’s Player of the Week!
The Giants’ forward notched a goal and an assist as the Giants won 2-1 in Fife, hat-trick in just 11 minutes & 12 seconds the following night in Glasgow as his side beat the Clan 4-1, and finally his side’s fifth goals in Dundee as his team won 6-3. Commenting on his six-point weekend, he said: “Getting the hat-trick against the Clan was the first of my career and it was great to get the win. Rudy, Murph and I are doing well right now and we need to keep the momentum rolling.”
“It was a very good weekend from the team in Scotland. Three games in three nights is tough and the boys were awesome all weekend. We are in a great position although there are still a lot of games to play – both in the league and next week’s Continental Cup games in Belfast,” continued the 33-year-old. “This weekend against Nottingham and Cardiff will be a huge test. The Devils have dominated the league the last few seasons and Sunday’s game will be an important one for us.”
Riley currently has 23 points in 17 league games so far.
