Manchester Storm and Nottingham Panthers play the first leg of their Challenge Cup Quarter-Final tie tonight at the Storm Shelter.
The Panthers, as third seeds after the Group Stage, chose to play the Storm over Sheffield, and make the trip to Manchester hoping to take a lead back to Nottingham. The Storm on the other hand will be wary that while they’ve won four of their last five home games over the Panthers, the last three wins were all level after 60 minutes and then decided in overtime or a shootout. As this is an aggregate series, the score after three periods will stand.
“We are looking forward to this game. Nottingham are playing the best they have all year and it’s going to be a big challenge for us.” – Ryan Finnerty (Head Coach, Manchester Storm)
“We have a lot of games in the next month and playing Manchester this week will definitely be a tough task. They’re a very hard-working team and I think if we can match their compete level we will have a good chance to get the win.“ – Alex Guptill (Forward, Nottingham Panthers)
