Coventry Blaze and Glasgow Clan both announced strengthening of their squads yesterday with a new arrival each ahead of the Christmas period.
The Blaze have brought in Croatian international Ivan Puzić, who has arrived from Meveščak Zagreb in the EBEL. “Ivan comes to us from a very good level. He is a reliable and steady defenceman that will improve our back-end. He’s come up through a strong junior system in the Czech Republic and plays the right way,” said Head Coach Danny Stewart. “He will eat some minutes for us on the penalty-kill and complement our current group very well. He’s still at a young age and is only going to get better. We’re looking forward to his arrival next week.”
Meanwhile the lan, who are now Challenge Cup Semi-Finalists after last night’s win, have added former Cardiff, MK and Nottingham forward Guillaume Doucet. The 32-year-old comes in from Milano in the Alps League. “I’m super excited to be joining the Clan also super excited to be working with Pete again. He and I know each other very well. I know Pete will be able to get the best out of me and I can help the team push into the top half of the table,” said the Canadian. “I cannot wait to experience Glasgow and the Purple Army. Everytime I have played in Braehead with Hull, Nottingham, Cardiff and Milton Keynes – I’ve always been very impressed with the atmosphere and the facility itself.”
