Guildford Flames 6-3 MK Lightning

A good Christmas series for the Guildford Flames with the MK Lightning as tonight’s hosts backed up their 1-0 road win last night with a home victory.

A lively opening period saw John Dunbar put the Flames ahead with just over five and a half minutes gone. MK were level with Robbie Baillargeon continuing his decent scoring record of late at 13:13, but the Flames were back ahead before the period was out through Ian Watters.

Brett Ferguson and Jamie Crooks scored just over a minute between each other in the middle period to move the Flames’ lead to 4-1, Andreas Valdix pulling it back to 4-2 just after the halfway mark. Crooks struck again early in the third to put the Flames three up, and despite Baillargeon getting another goal back for MK the points were safe with four minutes to go – Evan Janssen scoring to round off the Flames’ win.
