Cardiff Devils have added winger James Livingston to their roster for the rest of the season, ahead of a big few weeks for the Welsh side.

Livingston joins from German DEL2 side EC Bad Nauheim, where he’s put up 68 points in 77 games over two seasons. Prior to that, his first top in Europe saw the 28-year-old hit 27 and 29 points in two seasons respectively for Dornbirn in the EBEL.

Livingston is a former 3rd round NHL Draft pick of the St Louis Blues (2008). He spent 5 seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL), 3 years playing for Worcester, the top affiliate of the San Jose Sharks before moving onto Manchester (top affiliate of the LA Kings).

“James is going to add depth to our forward unit at a time when we are going into a tough stretch of games. He is a solid two-way forward and the reports on him came in very positive about his attitude and his work ethic,” explained Head Coach Andrew Lord of the latest pickup. “With so many games coming up in this second half of the season, we felt it was the best thing for the team to have another top forward that can slot into the line-up on any line and at any forward position. His versatility and reputation as a solid two-way guy is what attracted us to him. I think he is going to be a great addition for us.”

Livingston will arrive in Cardiff tomorrow.
