Manchester Storm 7-4 Fife Flyers
It’s now three games unbeaten for Ryan Finnerty’s Manchester Storm, who completed a four-point weekend thanks to a big home win over Fife.
Things actually started well for the Flyers at the Storm Shelter, the visitors’ Chase Schaber putting his side a goal up at just after five minutes. But the opening period only got worse for Todd Dutiaume’s side as Dallas Ehrhardt tied the game at 7:57, before Felix-Antoine Poulin made it 2-1 at 12:41. The Storm raced into a 3-1 lead just over two minutes later through Chris Auger to complete the first period turnaround. Mike Cazzola got the Flyers back in the game at 26:39, but when Dane Byers hit back a little over three minutes later the Storm were back two ahead.
Ehrhardt and Auger both struck again in the final period to extend the Storm’s lead out to 6-2, with Danick Gauthier bringing the deficit back to three with 10 minutes to play. Rob linsmayer and Paul Crowder traded goals as the game ended in a 7-4 win for the hosts.
