A couple of days after releasing three players, Sheffield Steelers have added to their roster with the signing of Tom Zanoski.
The 34-year-old winger arrives from EBEL club Medveščak Zagreb, with whom he had spent the last four seasons in both their KHL and EBEL rosters.
Since arriving in Europe in the early part of 2011, Zanoski has primarily played in the EBEL – icing for Zagreb, the KAC, Linz, Bolzano, and Ljubljana. He amassed 100 points in 234 games at that level, while also playing 39 games in the KHL.
“It’s been a difficult time for us all in Zagreb so it will be nice to come and join the Steelers focussing on nothing but hockey and our play off push,” said the forward, who joins up with former Zagreb teammate, and current Steeler, John Armstrong. “He and many others have told me great things about the club and the City.”
Zanoski is expected to make his debut this weekend.
