Week 21 of 30 in the Elite Ice Hockey League sees Challenge Cup action and more crucial games in the league.
We start this week on Wednesday, first up with Cardiff hoping to continue their unbeaten run as they travel to a Sheffield Steelers team in need of some big performances to get back in the playoff places. On the same night Guildford and Nottingham, both of whom in indifferent form of late, meet in the first leg of their Challenge Cup Semi-Final.
Thursday night seems Glasgow travel to MK, hoping to avoid a repeat of when they were there on the FreeSports live game earlier in the season, while on Friday Fife begin the first of their two games in Belfast over the weekend.
Saturday is a full schedule as the Giants and Flyers meet again, while Guildford return to league action to face Coventry at home for the second time in a fortnight – there were 15 goals last time! Dundee and Manchester have both been pushing up the table, and they clash as the DIA, while Sheffield will look to keep moving up the table when they face a Clan side trying to hunt down the top four. In Nottingham, a big crowd is expected as leaders Cardiff come to town.
Then on Sunday evening Coventry return home to face Dundee in another crucial playoff battle, while Belfast play their third game in as many nights by travelling to Milton Keynes. The ‘War of the Roses’ returns as Manchester and Sheffield clash at the Storm Shelter, while up in Scotland Glasgow welcome Guildford. The final game of the week sees Fife at home, hosting the Devils who have a tough road weekend.
