Belfast Giants’ forward Colin Shields wrote a little more Elite Ice Hockey League history last night in Milton Keynes as he became the league’s all-time leading points scorer.

The Great Britain international’s assist on the Giants’ final goal in their 9-2 win over the Lightning moved him on to 732 points overall – taking over from former Panther David Clarke on 731 points.

Giants’ Head Coach Adam Keefe paid tribute to Shields post game – especially that he completed the milestone on his birthday!
