The first Final of the 2018/19 Season is set to be played in Week 7, along with nine games in the league.
Challenge Cup Final
Will Belfast Giants defend their title, or can Guildford Flames add to their recent Conference trophy by clinching their first ever Challenge Cup? We’ll find out at 4pm on Sunday afternoon when the two sides meet in Cardiff’s Viola Arena.
Cardiff play their previously postponed game against Fife on Thursday night, at which they will go level on games played with Belfast – and the two teams will then stay pretty much on level games until the regular season is over. The Devils, who currently lead the league by two points, play again on Friday night at home to Guildford while Belfast host Glasgow looking for revenge for their recent 5-0 defeat in Scotland.
Saturday night sees Coventry with a must-win game against Milton Keynes; while in the playoff race Dundee have a tricky trip to Nottingham, and Sheffield host Fife with the teams in direct competition for sixth place.
Sunday’s three league fixtures begin with a crucial playoff battle – Dundee host Manchester with the sides separated by only a point before the weekend, and the Storm currently in the last playoff place. Coventry play MK again, this time at the Skydome where again anything other than a win is not an option; while Fife play host to Sheffield in the reverse fixture.
