Sheffield Steelers are the highest Elite Ice Hockey League team in the IIHF’s annual report of average attendances.
The Steelers climbed 18 places to #35 in Europe with their average crowd of 6,045 during this season so far. Nottingham Panthers (42 overall, 5,799 average) and Belfast Giants (79 overall, 4,267 average) are also inside the Top 100.
As a league, the EIHL is ranked eighth overall in Europe with an average attendance of 2,850 – marginally behind Austria’s EBEL, but comfortably ahead of the top leagues in Norway, France, and Slovakia below.
