30 weeks of the Elite Ice Hockey League regular season are now behind us. We know our league champions, we know our Challenge Cup winners, now we begin the road to finding out our playoff champions.
The playoff Quarter-Finals take place over Saturday and Sunday. All of the higher seeds have home-ice advantage in the return leg, with the exception of Belfast due to arena availability.
This means on Saturday the Giants host the Blaze, hoping to build up a lead before heading to Coventry on Sunday. Cardiff head into Sheffield where they lost their last meeting, with Nottingham travelling up to Fife and Glasgow going down to Guildford to a rink that they’ve never won in.
Sunday sees the reverse fixtures. Coventry will need another inspired performance when they face Belfast on home ice, while Sheffield go to Cardiff hoping to avoid another heavy defeat as they had in the regular season. Nottingham will look to end a run of two straight home defeats when they host Fife, while Guildford make the long journey up to Glasgow.
