Glasgow Clan have this evening announced that Head Coach Pete Russell has resigned from his position at the club.

Russell, who signed a three-year contract in the summer of 2018, requested to cut his time in Glasgow short to pursue an opportunity in Germany. His new team has yet to announce his arrival.

“The 44-year-old wishes to accept a job offer in Germany and following completion of negotiations, the Clan must reluctantly accept his resignation. We now begin the process of looking for a new Head Coach, one who can build on our 4th place league finish last season and lead us to our first EIHL silverware” said a Clan statement.

Russell is currently leading Great Britain in their first appearance at the top level of the IIHF World Championships since 1994.
