Coventry Blaze have added to their roster for next season with the capture of Evan Bloodoff from Fife Flyers.
The 28-year-old Canadian spent the past two seasons in Kirkcaldy and amassed 97 points in 110 games for the Flyers. Before landing in the UK, Bloodoff spent time in the ECHL and AHL, notching over 170 points in some 330 games.
“With losing some key guys from last season, it’s vital that we replace production and adding a guy like Evan who has scored over 60 goals the past two seasons does that. He skates well, plays the right way and scores goals in different ways,” said Head Coach Danny Stewart. “He’s a dirty area guy and can score from anywhere. At times last season, although we scored a lot of goals, I felt when games got heavy we had a tough time scoring those dirty goals, so adding a guy like Evan is important and the fact he’s a veteran, will prove important with a younger group.”
On the move, Bloodoff commented, “I have nothing but good things to say about the organisation in Fife, but I just thought it was time for a change. I’m very excited about this new opportunity in Coventry and I’m looking forward to meeting everybody there in August.”
