Defenseman Scott Aarsen has resigned with Fife Flyers ahead of the 2019/20 season.
The 31-year-old has spent six seasons in the Elite with four years in Glasgow and a season in Sheffield before heading to Fife last summer – totalling some 304 regular season games with 179 points, of which 33 came for the Flyers last campaign.
“I am thrilled to be coming back to Fife for another year! It was a privilege to play in front of the Flyers faithful last season and I can’t wait to see the Auld Barn rocking again,” said the Ontario native. “My family and I really enjoyed our time last year, so it was an easy decision to return. I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff again, and I can’t wait to hit the ice with all the guys. I feel that we have some unfinished business from last season and look forward to doing whatever it takes to help the team win.”
Head coach Todd Dutiaume spoke highly of the returning defenceman, saying” “The decision to bring Scott and his family back was an incredibly easy one. His on ice contribution was invaluable; quietly anchoring our defence and leading by example every night. We’ll look to him once again to be that calm steadying influence who will contribute regularly on offence and provide strong leadership.”
