Arriving today at the Nottingham Panthers’ jersey launch was a surprise new signing – defenseman Jason DeSantis.
Spending four of the last five seasons in the EBEL, the 33-year-old American has played 195 games in the cross-border league, chipping in with 84 points through tow years in Klagenfurt, and a season each with Innsbruck and the VSV. Two seasons ago, he spent a year with Lustenau in the Alps League. Before that, DeSantis played 226 AHL games and also had a spells in the Czech Republic and Finland.
“His pedigree speaks for itself, he’s a class act and he knows what’s required,” said Director of Hockey Gui Doucet. “Along with Head Coach Tim Wallace we’ve studied him and we’ve had nothing but good reports from people that know him well.”
