Dundee Stars have completed their lineup for the 2019/20 season with two new arrivals.
Forward Kevin Dufour comes in from the ECHL’s Manchester Monarchs where he scored 17 points in 23 games last season, starting the season with the Indy Fuel from whom he put up 34 in 46 games at the same level. This season marked the 27-year-old’s second full season in the ECHL.
“Kevin was another guy we had to be patient on and it finally came through and during the off-season, a lot of teams had interest in him but we were the team that got him and we are very happy,” explained Head Coach Omar Pacha. “Dufour is a guy that I know will do well in his first year here because he works hard, does the extra little things in practice and he keeps wanting to get better. We are getting a guy in his prime too and he had a great reference from Mike Sullivan.”
Welsh netminder Brython Preece (pictured) is the final piece of Pacha’s jigsaw, coming back into the game after a year out from hockey. Two seasons ago he backed up Kevin Nastiuk in Coventry, having come through the Cardiff junior setup. He’ll be understudy to Alex Leclerc.
“Brython is a tall, lengthy goalie and is in good shape now. He didn’t play last year but he is hoping to continue his development this year and he is still young, he is only 21,” said Pacha. “He is a guy that works hard over the summer and we are excited to see progress and see him in camp. All his experience from his time with Coventry will help in the league this year.”
