27-year-old defenseman Kevin Schulze is the Sheffield Steelers' latest signing for the 2021 Elite Series.
The American has played 126 ECHL games (91 points), 13 AHL (one point) and played last season in the DEL for Nürnberg -scoring eight goals and assisting on nine others in 47 games. He was supposed to play for Sparta Sarpsborg in Norway this year but arrived in the country only days before the league was locked down.
“Kevin is a smooth-skating offensive D-man,” said Head Coach Aaron Fox. “He put up really solid numbers in Nürnberg last year in the DEL and logged big minutes. He’s really excited to play some games as he arrived in Norway just before they locked down, so he has been practicing every day for two months without playing.”
He continued, “I think Kevin will be a guy who runs our Powerplay and is able to play in all situations. I’m looking forward to getting him into our group”.
