Ahead of Round 6 starting this evening, we take a look at some of the more interesting numbers jumping out of the statistics so far!
Steelers dominate offense... and penalty box
- Five of the 11 players with at least six points in the Series so far play for Sheffield
- The Steelers have nine players who are +4, no other team has higher than a +3 on their roster
- They have scored more goals (28) than Coventry and Nottingham combined (25)
- Sheffield (78PIM) have almost twice as many penalty minutes as any other team (Coventry: 45)
Goalies
- Shane Owen's save percentage of 92.31% is almost 5% higher than the next-best goalie, Jackson Whistle (87.84%)
- No goalie has a goals-against average under 3.00 - Owen is the closest at 3.01
Defensemen
- Jérémy Beaudry (Sheffield) has more points than 45 of the 55 forwards in the series
- Brendan Ellis (Nottingham) is the unluckiest shooter so far: 22 shots but no goals
Forwards
- Sam Duggan, Simen Edvardsen (both Coventry) and Ollie Betteridge (Nottingham) have scored all of their goals so far on the powerplay
- Johno May (Nottingham) leads forwards for the most shots without scoring (20 SOG)
