With 10 rounds behind us in the 2021 Elite Series, and 20 games, it's time for another deep dive into the statistics to find some of the more unusual numbers!
Forwards
- Only one player in the Elite Series has more than a goal per game ratio: Tristan Keck (1.2 GPG)
- Eight players in the series have scored all of their goals on the powerplay
- The lowest amount of shots on goal a player has needed to score a goal is currently five (Mac Howlett); there are 12 players with more shots than him who are yet to score
- Although Nottingham have the tied-worst GF/GA ratio, five are of their players are in the Top 20 for plus-minus (led by Kevin Domingue on +8)
Defensemen
- Kevin Schulze's only goal of the event was on the penalty kill
- Brendan Ellis has the third-highest shot total for the series (66) but is still yet to find the net
Goalies
- While Sean Bonar has been in the net for the longest time this series (540 minutes), he hasn't faced the most shots - "only" 277 compared to Shane Owen who's has had 299 on him
- Owen has also faced the most shots per minute: one shot every 1.39 minutes!
Teams
- Sheffield have the best overall record (7-0-3), but the second-least efficient special teams (25% PP & 70% PK)
- Coventry have given up almost twice as many shots as they've taken - the only team with a negative SF/SA ranking (Average 25.2 vs. 42.5 per game)
- Sheffield are the only team yet to play overtime this series
- No game has been decided in a shootout thus far
