Flyers confirm Emmerdahl on blue line again

Swede Jonas Emmerdahl will be back with the Fife Flyers for 2021/22, the club confirmed on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old from Stockholm played 49 cames for the Kirkcaldy-based side before Covid-19 prematurely ended the 2019/20 season. Emmerdahl iced in the Swedish third tier last season, picking up eight points in 25 games.

"I am very excited to have Jonas Emmerdahl joining us again for another season, I have been instantly impressed with his professionalism on and off the ice," commented Head Coach Todd Dutiaume. "Last season he became a key anchor at the backend of our powerplay when seasons finally got clicking near the end of the year.

"We will make some improvements at the backend of the team and that will only show off his strengths more. I will be looking for him to be more of a leader this year in the changing room and be a little more vocal now that he is comfortable, and he knows what it takes to win in this league."
