Can Devils end EIHL road woes in Germany?

If the Cardiff Devils are able to take the game past 60 minutes tomorrow in Mannheim, or win it in regulation, they would achieve something that no other Elite League team has managed to do so far in the Champions Hockey League: pick up points on the road in Germany.

Back in 2014/15, the Nottingham Panthers beat Hamburg at home but were unable to follow that up on the road, going down 6-0.

A year later, the then Braehead Clan were beaten 5-2 in Ingolstadt, but did lead through Matt Keith after the opening period. Clan would later go on to win the meeting on home ice.

Finally, back in 2019/20, the Belfast Giants arguably came the closest to picking up points on German soil, but two goals in the final eight minutes saw them go down 3-1 to Augsburg.
