The Fife Flyers confirmed the signing of Latvian international Imants Lescovs on Tuesday evening, adding to their defensive options for 2021/22.
The 6'1" blueliner spent last season in Poland, but comes to Kirkcaldy with winning pedigree after lifting a championship in Ritten in 2019.
Lescovs, 27, put up 15 points in 17 games with Zaglebie Sosnowiec last campaign and played under new Glasgow Clan Head Coach Malcolm Cameron for Gyergyói in 2019/20. He has been capped at international level by Latvia twice and dressed in five KHL matches.
"We are delighted to welcome Imants to the Fife Flyers, his pedigree and experience will be a welcome addition to the squad we are assembling," said Head Coach Todd Dutiaume. "He has a great hockey IQ and reads the game extremely well, so he will complement our defence well.
"Imants can go both ways too though, he is good with his hands, a very skilled player and a strong presence on the blue line. I expect that he will complement our speedy forwards well as he likes to transition quickly from defense into attack."
