Giants to see familiar faces in Manchester

Manchester host Belfast in the first meeting between the two sides this season for Saturday’s only league game.

It will also be the first time that Curtis Hamilton and Liam Morgan will come up against their former team – the pair played for the Giants in 2019/20 before switching to the Storm this past off-season.

Belfast are one and one in league games having only started playing those last weekend – a loss in Cardiff followed by a win in Coventry opening their account there. The Giants had, however, a 5-1 record in the Premier Sports Challenge Cup prior to starting league action.

Manchester hoped that last weekend’s win over Fife, their first of the season had them turning a corner. However, an 8-0 thrashing 24 hours later in Kirkcaldy meant it was back to the drawing board for the Storm, but they bounced back with a big win midweek against Dundee.

Tonight’s meeting is the 29th since Storm re-joined the Elite League. In Altrincham, Belfast have won eight of the 14 meetings, with the Storm having five wins and one ending in a tie.
