Poirier and Springer fined for Incidents in Game 39

Both players receive fines

The Premier Sports Elite League's Department of Player safety has fined Dundee Stars' Michael Poirier and Manchester Storm's Linden Springer for incidents in Game 39 between the Storm and Stars on 13 November 2021.

Manchester were informed of the fine at 10:29am. Dundee were informed of the fine at 10:52am.

Michael Poirier
Effective immediately, Dundee Stars defenseman #42 Michael Poirier is fined for his illegal check to the head on Storm forward #7 Tayler Thompson at 31:15 during the game between the Manchester Storm and the Dundee Stars on 13/11/2021.

While DOPS acknowledges that Thomson is falling immediately prior to the hit being made, when making this hit the onus and responsibility is on Poirier to do so in a legal manner ensuring Thompson’s body is the primary point of contact.

Linden Springer
Effective immediately, Manchester Storm defensemen #27 Linden Springer is fined for his actions while leaving the ice after the fight between himself and Dundee Stars' #25 Kyle Hass, timed at 31:39 during the game between the Manchester Storm and the Dundee Stars on 13/11/2021.

While it is often the case that one or both players leave the ice following a fight, it is not acceptable for Springer to enter the away team’s restricted area. When leaving the ice, he is required to proceed directly to his own locker room area.
