The Sheffield Steelers and Coventry Blaze meet two nights running this weekend in the Premier Sports Elite League with both teams looking for their first home wins against each other.
By a quirk of this season's previous meetings, both sides have won in each other's arenas only. Sheffield took a shootout win in Coventry during one of the early season TV games, while Coventry were midweek winners in Sheffield during October.
League leaders Sheffield came through a tight game against Dundee last Sunday to record their third straight win since exiting the IIHF Continental Cup. Coventry's midweek cup win against Belfast ended a two-game loss streak for the Blaze, but in league play they've only managed a shootout win in Glasgow as their only victory during their last five games.
After a series of injuries and suspensions, the Blaze have gradually welcomed players back into their lineup with only David Broll missing midweek. Sheffield, meanwhile, brought in more injury-reserve cover this week with the signing of Tommaso Traversa. They currently have Brandon Connolly and Adrian Saxrud-Danielsen on IR.
