Dundee came out on top over the Cardiff Devils for the second time this week but this time earned two valuable Premier Sports Elite League points at Ice Arena Wales.

Sebastian Bengtsson was the two-goal hero for the Stars, and he opened the scoring with a lovely snipe past Mac Carruth as the Stars broke 2-on-1 on the rush with 5:13 played.

Teddy bears rained down on the ice on the 15-minute mark when Trevor Cox backhanded home from close range to tie the scores and sends the teams into the locker room at 1-1 after the opening 20 minutes.

No goals came in the middle period where the teams traded a penalty each, but there was to be late drama in the third.

Despite outshooting the Stars heavily, the Devils couldn't convert on their chances, and when Bengtsson tipped Drydn Dow's shot in front of Carruth with 3:34 to go they were back in the lead with the home crowd somewhat stunned.

Cardiff pushed for the equaliser but didn't generate any Grade A chances to trouble Adam Morrison, and the Stars held on for an impressive road victory to cap a four-point weekend that moved them into seventh.
