Flames return to ice against Giants

Belfast make their first trip of the season to Guildford to face a Flames side playing their first game since coming out of COVID-19 protocol.
The Flames haven't iced since losing 4-3 in Glasgow on 12 December. Belfast, meanwhile, ran out comfortable winners against the same opposition on Boxing day in their first game after an enforced protocol break.
These teams have not met yet this season as their scheduled clash before Christmas was a victim of the postponed games. The Giants, in third, sit one place and three points about the Flames in the standings but have played two games less. With four games in hand on Sheffield, Belfast are currently the best-placed team to cut the gap on the league leaders.
