Flames release Alasaari

The Guildford Flames have released defenceman Jesper Alasaari who is now on his way back to his native Sweden. The 6’3”, 220lb skater had a pair of goals and 15 points in 25 cup and league outings.

"We have mutually agreed to part ways as Jesper heads home to try and get a handle on a personal issue. I am sure both parties here are disappointed that things could not work out in a more timely fashion, but it’s best that Jesper is at home at least for the immediate future," explained Head Coach Paul Dixon.

"We will now take to the market as we search for a replacement Defenceman, and in the meantime we will play with what we have.

"Thanks to Jesper for his input into the first half of the season, and we wish him well as he moves forward."
