Cardiff edged Fife in a tight game on Sunday evening to earn their second win of the week and condemn the Flyers to their sixth straight loss.
Brandon Magee gave the Flyers the lead with just over ten minutes played - the forward was left all alone to the right of Mac Carruth's net and neatly converted Craig Peacock's pass for the game's opening goal.
Fife led for a little over three and a half minutes before a quick Devils double saw them fall behind. Stephen Dixon tipped Justin Crandall's shot to level things at 13:32, before Jake Coughler continued his impressive start to life at the Devils with an excellent finish past Shane Owen 1-on-0 some 50 seconds later.
Fife scored the only goal of the middle period to level the scores at Ice Arena Wales, which was still closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions in Wales. Decent Flyers' passing in close to the Devils' net on the powerplay saw Magee set up Erik Naslund for the one-timer to level it at 28:30.
Stephen Dixon put the Devils back ahead 4:58 into the final period after a turnover in the neutral zone and being played in by Justin Crandall, and the Devils' forward beat Owen high short side.
That goal proved to be the winner as Carruth stopped all nine of the shots he faced in the final period to earn the Devils a win that sent them back to joint-top of the Premier Sports Elite League table.
