Glasgow ended Belfast's win streak at 11 games with a 3-1 win against the Giants at Braehead Arena on Wednesday evening.
The Giants arrived only lost one of their past 13 games and took the lead 7:48 into the game after Clan turned the puck over in their own zone, and the puck eventually worked its way to David Goodwin for a simple finish.
That lead was one the Giants held through into period two, and preserved thanks to a smart Jackson Whistle low save to stay ahead at the end of the middle period.
After only one goal in the first 40 minutes, period three burst into life with under 15 minutes to play. Nolan LaPorte fired home at 45:19 as the Clan enjoyed a 5-on-3 advantage to tie things up. As the Giants pressed to regain the lead, the Clan rushed 2-on-1 and LaPorte's pass set up Mathieu Roy for a wonderful finish past Whistle to put the hosts ahead with 8:20 left to play.
Belfast pulled Whistle inside the final 90 seconds to push for the equalised and set up the shot only for an exploding stick to deny them a scoring opportunity. Cody Sol found the empty cage from own zone with 16 seconds left to seal an excellent win for the home side.
