Coventry responded to a shutout defeat in Dundee on Saturday night by trashing Fife 6-2 at the Skydome on Sunday evening.

The damage was all done in the first period where a four-goal showing from the hosts put them well in control of the game. Janne Laakkonen opened the scoring after seven minutes, followed by Ryan Penny at 13:21. Janne Kivilahti made it three at 15:57, while Penny added his second to complete a three-goal spell in under three minutes to give the Blaze a four-goal lead.

The home side moved five ahead when Penny completed his hat trick at 25:23, and he was credited with his side's sixth after the puck bounced in from close range with just shy of 37 minutes played. CJ Motte's hopes of a shutout were ended when James Anderson got the Flyers on the board with 92 seconds left in the middle period.

Carson Stadynk added a second for the Flyers 8:37 from the end but the Blaze took a comfortable victory, while the Flyers are now nine games without a win.
