Guildford Flames let slip a two-goal lead but held on to take a shootout win in Dundee, ending their Scottish double-header with a win.
The Flames, who were beaten in Fife on Saturday night, took the lead inside 11 minutes in Dundee through Ian McNulty jamming one through Adam Morrison with 10:34 played. 58 seconds later the Flames were two ahead thanks to Robert Lachowicz finishing off a give and go with Chris Gerrie.
Timi Lahtinen's slapshot form the point for the Stars on the board at 26:57, however the Flames were back two ahead when John Dunbar went top shelf from Ian Watters' feed at 33:37.
Dundee got themselves level in the game with two third period goals in 17 seconds to get their rink rocking. First, Charlie Combs got a rebound from Connor sills shot through Kevin Lindskoug from close range at 47:37, and on the very next play Phililpe Sanche got on a loose puck at the top of the crease with Lindskoug stranded to tie things up.
Guildford had the edge on chances to win the game in regulation, and indeed in overtime, but it needed penalty shots to decide things. After Jamal Watson scored in round three, Sebastian Bengtsson kept Dundee in things in the fifth, only for Jake Bolton to beat Morrison on the very next shot to win it for the Flames.
