Glasgow Clan conceded four goals inside the final seven minutes of the game at Ice Arena Wales to surrender a 2-0 lead and see the Cardiff Devils come from behind to take two points on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless opening period, Clan hit two goals in 32 seconds to take control of the game during the second.
A bouncing puck turned the puck over to the Clan as the Devils tried to go over the offensive blueline, and as the visitors broke Guillaume Gauthier nicely toe-dragged around the defensemen before setting up Mitch Jones for the back-post finish at 30:05.
Mathieu Roy doubled the lead at 30:37 when he was left alone at the far post to deflect the puck into the gaping cage, the pass coming from Brock Beukeboom who was given too much time to pick his man out from along the wall.
Jake Coughler pulled an excellent move which saw the puck come off the crossbar as the Devils tried to find a way back into the game, with Cole Sanford on hand to put the loose puck home at 53 minutes exactly. Stephen Dixon deflected a Brodie Reid slapshot past Shane Starrett 24 seconds later to tie the game as the Devils piled on the pressure during the third period.
Inside the final three minutes, Josh Batch showed excellent patience to pick his moment and his spot top corner past Starrett to put the Devils ahead. Josh Waller slapped home from the slot with 65 seconds left to seal an excellent comeback by the Devils to keep them second in the table.
