Fife Flyers made it three wins in a row for the first time since September 2019 with a dominating 5-1 road victory in Guildford on Saturday night.

Although the Flames had the better of the chances in the opening period, it was the Flyers who led after 20 minutes. Michael McNicholas on target with 7:57 gone for the 1-0 lead. The Flames did have a lot of pressure on Shane Owen's net but were guilty of going for an extra pass on more than one occasion.

Bari McKenzie capitalised on a badly-timed Flames line change to slot past Kevin Lindskoug 6:42 into period two , however the Flames were back into things just over two minutes later through Brett Ferguson. The Flyers responded on the poweprlay at 32:19 to go back two ahead with Jacob Benson slapping home at the far post, before Tommi Jokinen netted on a penalty shot added a fourth with 81 seconds left in the middle frame.

The Flames couldn't use a penalty on McKenzie early in period three to get themselves back into the game, and with 5:16 left Carson Stadnyk made it 5-1 to confirm the Flyers' win. The game got chippy as feisty as the clock ticked down with Kyle Locke ejected for a cross-check inside the final minute.

Fife move on to 19 points from 31 games played while Guildford could slip further down the table depending on other results on Saturday night.
