Glasgow Clan and Dundee Stars will clash tonight for the first time in Braehead this season.
The two sides met twice in Dundee with a win each, and now go into the first of what will be three meetings in Braehead over the final three months of the season.
Glasgow lead the Dundee by a point through 31 games played each, sitting one place above their visitors tonight in seventh. In a tightly-packed race for the playoff places, teams placed sixth to ninth are only separated by two points.
Clan ended a four-game losing run with an excellent 5-3 midweek home win against Sheffield. That victory also put a paid to a three-game losing streak on their own ice, and takes Malcolm Cameron’s team to a .500 record in their last six games at the Braehead Arena. Dundee, for their part, picked up an equally-impressive 3-2 home win against Cardiff to extend their homestead to only having lost one of their last nine home fixtures in regulation. On the road, however, they are winless in four.
If the game is decided on special teams then it’s the hosts who go in with a significant powerplay advantage. Clan are 21.95% compared to the Stars’ league-worst 15.25%, while on the PK both teams are around the 80% mark.
The Stars’ last victory in Glasgow came on their last visit in February 2020 which saw them win on penalty shots.
