Playoff race heating up on Sunday

Six teams in contention for four playoff places come face to face with each other across Sunday evening as the race to make the post season goes up a notch in the final nine week of the season.
Glasgow were the big winners on Saturday night with their derby win over double, coupled with results elsewhere, seeing them rise up to fifth in the table. They travel to the team immediately below them and level on points, Guildford, tonight for a 6pm start - the Flames have won two of the three meetings between the teams so far this season, including both on home ice.
Seventh-placed Coventry host last-placed Fife at 6pm a day after both sides were beaten in very different ways. The Blaze were beaten by the only goal over 60 minutes against Nottingham, while Fife went ahead in Belfast before being thrashed 7-1. Coventry have played fewer games than anyone else in the league, but do need to keep collecting points as they sit just one place above the playoffs cutoff. Fife remain seven points adrift at the foot of the table, but had won four straight before losing in Belfast.

Sunday comes to a close with Dundee's final trip of the season to Manchester. Omar Pacha's Stars have been beaten both times at the Storm Shelter this season, and arrive having suffered a derby defeat to Glasgow yesterday. They picked up an impressive midweek win against Cardiff to stay in the playoff places.
Manchester were beaten 7-2 by Sheffield on Saturday night and, with one of the league's worst road records, it's imperative that they pick up results on home ice against the teams around them. Having played more games then the teams they're battling with for that playoff place, Ryan Finnerty's team need to end their week with a win after two losses in the past four nights.
