A late arrival and long bus ride was too much for Glasgow Clan to overcome as they were dispatched 8-2 by Guildford Flames on Sunday night at the Spectrum.

The Flames made their advantage count early and raced into a two goal lead. Ian Watters opened the scoring 6:44 in with a deflections on Mike Crocock's shot, while Levi Cable doubled the lead some five minutes later at the back post on a powerplay.
Another pair of goals in period two put the Flames well in control. Ian McNulty got the Flames' third of the night with a nice deke to loose his defenseman and slot past Shane Starrett at 28:34, before Chris Gerrie bundled the puck home with 46 seconds left in the period.
Brett Ferguson made it five 3:45 into period three on the powerplay , with Cable getting his second of the night at 47:02. Mathieu Roy got Clan on the board 1:27 later, only for Jordan Cownie to put the score at 7-1 under a minute thereafter.
Watters finished the Flames' scoring with 5:13 to play with a nice wrist shot in the slot, while Roy ended the game with Clan's second 27 seconds before the final buzzer.
