Who's contesting the 2022 Challenge cup Final? We'll know by the end of Wednesday night with Semi-Finals taking place in Belfast and Sheffield.
Who's playing, and when?
- Belfast Giants vs. Nottingham Panthers (19:00)
- Sheffield Steelers vs. Cardiff Devils (19:30)
How can I watch the games?
Sheffield vs. Cardiff is LIVE on Premier Sports. Promotional codes have now expired.
Belfast vs. Nottingham will be streamed by GiantsTV.
Can I still buy tickets?
YES! Tickets for both games are set at a flat rate price of £10 (no concessions).
What happens if the games are tied after 60 minutes?
- Overtime is 3-on-3 for ten minutes, sudden death - the first team to score wins*
- If there are no goals in OT, a 'Best of Five'-shot shootout determines the winner
- If both teams are still tied after five shots, the shooting order reverses and teams enter into a sudden-death shootout
Where will the final be played?
The team with the highest seeding from the group stage will have the option of hosting the final. Belfast were the top seeds, followed by Sheffield (2), Cardiff (3) and Nottingham (4).
This means that if Belfast win their Semi-Final, they have the option of hosting the Final, regardless of who they face.
Sheffield will have the option of hosting the final if: Nottingham AND Sheffield win.
Cardiff will have the option of hosting the final if: Nottingham AND Cardiff win.
When will the final be played?
We'll let you know shortly we know which two teams have made it, and where it will be played.
*An agreement between the four Semi-Final teams changed overtime to 10 minutes instead of five.
