The Flames head to Scotland with a three-point and three-place advantage over the Stars, but that is partly by virtue of having played two more games. Both teams are involved in the five-way battle for four playoff places with Guildford potentially slipping to seventh if they were to lose and other results went against them. A win, however, could just as easily see them with a four-point cushion.
Dundee's valuable win in Manchester last weekend put them two points clear in the final playoff place, and they have a big weekend ahead of them - tomorrow will be a derby game away to basement side Fife. Over the last 30 games for all teams, the Stars are actually a top-five team with 29 points out of 60. Guildford meanwhile have picked up 26 from the same amount.
Guildford were thrashed 7-0 on their first trip of the season to Dundee, but came away from their most recent visit with a shootout victory.
