Tonight: Giants and Stars meet
Two teams in need of points
Both Belfast Giants and Dundee Stars are looking to kickstart their seasons this Friday night as the two sides meet at the SSE Arena.
Reigning league and cup champions Belfast have not had the start they would have wanted to this season. The Giants have eight points from six games, which has them mid-table due to having played less games - although with a .678 record they are inside the league's top four. Surprisingly, the Giants are one of the league's lowest scorers, averaging just 2.17 goals per game. On the other hand, giving up just 1.83 a game means they have the EIHL's best defensive record.
The Stars, who won their Challenge Cup group, have yet to see that form transfer into their league games. Omar Pacha's side have lost their last four straight games in all competitions, and are without a win in five in the league. The Stars average over 4.6 goals a game against, which may be part of their problem. They're scoring just over three a game, but will night to be tighter.
Faceoff this evening is at 1900.
